WTF Moment: Do you edit people’s real comments?

Posted on September 28th, 2007 in Dumb Crap | 23 Comments »

If I see a comment on my blog that may be truthful or critiquing my work on the net, I still value the opinion. Because you take the time to leave me a comment, that shows that you care about something that I’ve said.

I never delete or edit comments that come from well-meaning sources that have something intelligent to say.

Keeping that in mind, I heard that DailyWolf was having a contest for a Nintendo Wii….and it was a comment contest. I think he Ashwin Khanna’d us because he awarded the “Wii” to some shady sounding guy. I left this comment:

“Ashwin Khanna anyone?” and here’s what’s there now:

“Wolf, I love your website”. Such BS!

I left a followup comment stating that I did not say that and I called him a retard. I do not like it when people put words in my mouth.

So, if you wanna go to his SUCKY website, then help yourself.

Get everything out of an affiliate program

Posted on September 18th, 2007 in Affiliates | 5 Comments »

When affiliate programs are new, it’s hard to know what will make money and what won’t. You could let the pros go in and cash in on the profits because they were the early birds, or you can jump in with feet first and test the water yourself.

I’m jumping in feet first and I want to take you with me. DealDotCom just launched their service today. It’s kind of like Woot! without the funny commentary. It’s still new and no one really knows what kind of money can be made from this opportunity, but why wait until John Chow publishes his monthly earnings report to see what kind of money he has made! Why not get in while it’s early and be the person that can say “I made a ton of cash from this new affiliate program, go check it out.”

I don’t know if I’m going to make a nickel from DealDotCom, that part is true. If you don’t sign up, then you’ll never know, either.

So, what are you waiting for? Jump in, the water’s just fine!

Website update: Re-designed again

Posted on September 16th, 2007 in Themes | 3 Comments »

For those of you who haven’t noticed, I’ve taken a liking to the new theme for my personal blog.

I figured that this theme is a little busier than the last, but it seems a little more organized to me. I haven’t had the time yet to really change anything around and customize it at all.

I haven’t really been feeling the writing thing lately, except for music posts.

Maybe I should just write, write, write, until I feel inspired.

I do have to say this, making money online is hard, and you have to really work at it for a while. Nobody drops a $1k google check in your hands for sitting on your butt, that’s for sure. I’d have cornered the market on Adsense earnings for sure, if that were the case.

So, I’ve done the new theme thing, again. I hope you like it. If you don’t, I’ll probably change it in a few months when I get tired of it anyways. (wink)

Digg me for a PR3 backlink

Posted on September 9th, 2007 in Ramblings | 10 Comments »

If you like music like I do, then you’ll love what’s heating up over at the 2007 Video Music Awards.

For this occasion, I’ve put in a Digg for my story on Kanye West and Britney Spears. Anyone who diggs the story, will get a PR3 backlink from Earsucker. The links will be in a special thank you post to my music loving friends.

Here’s the story:

Digg it!

Comment here if you’ve dugg it and I’ll include you on the list. Thank you!

How to create a post in Wordpress

Posted on September 6th, 2007 in Beginning blogging | 19 Comments »

This post is a part of Blue Jar’s Group Writing Project.

On the Wordpress Dashboard, click the “Write” tab at the top of the screen. On the Write screen, you are able to name your post, under the “Title” area. Directly underneath that, you’ll find the buttons for inserting bold text, italicized text, links, blockquotes, images, ordered and unordered lists, and more.

Underneath that, you’ll see the “Post” section. Here is where your content goes. To link to someone, highlight your text and click the link button. This will prompt you to enter in the URL that you wish to link to.

Under the content area of the post, there is a section called Categories. This will appear if you have the Cat2Tag plugin installed on your blog. Otherwise, you can create new categories on the upper-right hand side of the Write page.

Uploading pictures is also a snap. Under the categories section is the place where you can upload a picture that you’ve downloaded to your computer. Click the Browse button, and select the picture that you wish to upload. From there, click the Upload button. Shazzam, that’s it, it should appear on your server in a format something like this:

/wp-content/uploads/2007/whatevermonthitis/yourpicname.jpg

If you’d like to publish your article on a future date, use the Post Timestamp area on the right hand side. You can change this to whenever you want the article to be live on your blog.

Hope your holiday weekend is great!

Posted on September 3rd, 2007 in Ramblings | 1 Comment »

I just wanted to tell all of you that I hope you’re having a great Labor Day weekend.

I didn’t do anything today, but my dream job: Blog for a living. I laid out some posts over at ICYDK, Earsucker, and Tragicomical. I wish that blogging would be something that I could do as a real job. Maybe one day. Maybe I just don’t know what it takes to actually make it in the blogging world.

I know that connecting and putting rockin’ posts out there is a definite plus. I’m just not sure how people enter the internet with a simple niche targeted blog and make thousands. I have niches, too! (Okay, I’m off on a tangent now.)

Well, I did make 63 cents in adsense today. So, I am making money online! Woohoo! lol

I’m rambling. Enjoy the rest of the day off!
