Working the Adsense video units
Upon signing into my Adsense account today, I noticed that the video link units were available. I clicked the link and Google asked me the email address associated with my Adsense account, the last five digits of my home telephone number, and my zip code. They sent a confirmation email, to which they said the service could take 12 hours to activate. And viola! It was more like 12 seconds!
Apparently, they needed to connect my Adsense account with my Youtube account.
So, I’ve selected the category of videos that I wish for it to play, “People & Blogs”, so let’s see what pops up:
It’s a test moreso, to see if the ads can really target what you want by the content of your site. So, maybe the next post I do with the ads on it should be something to do with a trip to Mars or some outlandish story.
What do you think of the new video units?
Update: It’s a link! WTF?

I think it is a wonderful idea. But once again it is a monopolized deal. To be fair to all should there not be an adsense Player that all sites that have video can use? Sites like hi5,
myspace, mrpals, etc… Or is this tool only to be allowed on googleyoutube?
Love your blogs and lots of info.
Thanks for the dofollow

Dee,
I totally agree. I don’t want to see ads every time I see a video on someone’s site. Google definitely has the monopoly, let’s see if anyone will step in and try to crush that…

At this time, the video units are open to US publishers only.
