I don’t know a whole lot about affiliate marketing, so let’s say that I’m a newbie at it. With Donovan’s amazing help and Don’s rockin’ helpful hints, I’m learning the business.
It’s not easy and most would have you think. If you’re a newbie like me, then the most important thing to remember is that it takes money to make money. Unfortunately for me, this is not a poor man’s game.
My new site, Webkinz for Christmas, is an affiliate infused website that is geared to try to make some money from the Webkinz craze. Don’t know what webkinz are? Click here. There you can learn about what I had to learn about webkinz pets to get started in this affiliate business.
In starting an affiliate business such as this one, you must first decide on a product to promote. Whether it be toys, magazines, or widgets, you have to know what you’re dealing with. If you don’t know the product, how can you tell people why they should buy it?
So, firstly, I’ve done my research. I know all about webkinz, the codes, the lil’ kinz, and the accessories. I’ve looked at the wikipedia entry and I’ve made my own about page.
Also, I’ve put up the statcounter code on the page so that I can track how many visitors I get and where they come from.
You can see that on the page, the only thing aside from the About page, are affiliate links. This ensures that if people do click on something on the page, I’ll make some money (hopefully).
Next, is how to get the people to come in and click.
